STRETCH & MINDFULNESS
Lengthen and release tension with some gentle seated stretches and mobility movements followed by a taster of the transformative power of mindfulness.
What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the practice of bringing focused attention to the present moment without judgment. It involves cultivating awareness of thoughts, feelings, and sensations. Through techniques like meditation, mindful breathing, and heightened awareness, you can enhance your ability to respond thoughtfully to stressors, improve concentration, and foster a greater sense of well-being.
Mindfulness encourages a non-reactive awareness, allowing for a more intentional and fulfilling engagement with life.
Workshop Details
During this 90-minute session, you'll spend 30 minutes learning about your core and how to activate and connect with your deep core muscles. You'll be led through some gentle seated exercises to help strengthen, stretch, and tone, mostly targeting the upper body. We'll focus on movements and stretches to help counteract some common postural adaptations related to a desk-based work life.
The latter 60 minutes will be an enlightening opportunity to discover the joys of mindfulness whilst dispelling some common myths around this incredible practice. You'll experience 2x 2-minute and 2x 10-minute guided mindfulness sessions, as well as learning some of the theory around what happens during a mindfulness session. Delve into the numerous benefits of regular practice, from improved sleep to increased creativity, focus and attention. Learn how you can integrate it into your daily routine, to help you: become more present and focused in the moment; to take yourself out of auto pilot; and to dial down your stress response so you can experience more of life to the fullest every day, at work, rest and at play.

During the guided sessions, if you feel uncomfortable with your thoughts or emotions please come out of the practice and return your awareness to the room. Then simply sit comfortably until the guided session has finished. Please seek appropriate mental health support if this is something you are struggling with.
